Frequently Asked Questions & important answers
If you’re considering working with us, these are the questions we’re most often asked.
How We Work
How is this different from a traditional agency?
Agencies are built for 'launches'—they want to finish a project and move on. We operate as an embedded software department. We focus on stewardship and continuous evolution, giving you the expertise of a firm with the context of an internal team.
Can we start with a single project or defined scope?
Absolutely. Many of our longest partnerships started as a focused build or a specific system fix. We offer fixed-scope proposals for well-defined projects. If it makes sense to move into a subscription later, the transition is seamless.
How do you handle priority and capacity?
We don’t over-subscribe. By maintaining a limited number of partnerships, we ensure every client has a consistent, high-velocity workstream. Your subscription secures a dedicated slice of our engineering capacity every single week.
Ownership & Technology
Who owns the software you build?
Your business logic and data are yours. Under our subscription model, we operate and maintain the system to keep upfront costs low. If you ever decide to move in-house or sell the company, a buyout option allows you to take full ownership of the code and infrastructure.
What technologies do you use?
We build with high-performance, industry-standard tools: VueJS, Astro, NodeJS, Go (Golang), and Dart/Flutter, all backed by AWS infrastructure. We avoid obscure frameworks to ensure your software is a scalable, transferable asset.
What happens if we stop working together?
There are no long-term contracts. You can pause or cancel at the end of any monthly cycle. We ensure your data is exported cleanly and, if ownership is the priority, the buyout option is always on the table.
Pricing & Logic
What if our current software is already a 'legacy mess'?
That is actually an ideal place to start. Most businesses think a 'mess' requires a $100k capital expenditure to scrap and rebuild. We shift that mindset from a massive upfront cost to a manageable monthly investment. We evaluate what you have and build it better, turning your technical debt into a streamlined operational asset.
Why does pricing start at $2,500 per month?
Below that level, it’s difficult to provide the senior-level stewardship your systems require. This ensures we can be proactive partners who understand your business, rather than just 'ticket-takers' reacting to bugs.
Is this more cost-effective than hiring in-house?
Significantly. A senior developer costs $15k–$18k per month fully loaded. For $5,000/month, you get a multi-disciplinary department—architecture, security, and engineering—with zero hiring risk or management overhead.
Who We Work With
How do we communicate and collaborate?
Directly. You work with senior engineers, not account managers. We prioritize clear communication and shared context so that you always know exactly what is being built and why.
Are you a good fit if the lowest price is our only priority?
No. We focus on reliability and long-term maintainability. We build software for businesses that view their technical infrastructure as a core asset they need to rely on as they grow.
How quickly do you ship progress?
We favor a continuous shipping cadence. You see progress every week, allowing us to course-correct in real-time. This avoids the 'big reveal' failure mode where software is built for months without feedback.
Still Have Questions?
If you’re unsure which engagement model makes sense — or you just want to talk through an idea — that’s a normal place to be.
You don’t need a perfect plan or final scope. We’re good at helping teams figure out what they actually need.
No pressure. No obligation. Just a clear, honest discussion.
